When I first heard that they were re-making Battlestar Galactica several years ago I was very excited that they were going to bring back one of my favorite Sci-fi shows. I had grown up watching Star Wars, Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica in the 1980’s. I never watched all the original episodes but I knew enough to understand the story. When I heard the new series was not going to be an exact re-make I was a bit disappointed but I still wanted to watch the show. Since then I am so glad that the show has taken on this alternate story line because it has been such a great story, emotional, dramatic and edge of your seat type. Anyway, on to what this page is about.
Linaka and I have been following the episodes for the past 4 seasons and this past weekend we went to the London Expo at the Excel center. Besides all the anime and cosplay present we got to see and meet part of the Battlestar Galactica cast. We met Edward James Olmos (Admiral Adama) and some of the other members. Quite honestly I was speechless in their presence but I managed to actually say something.
After the picture session with them they had a Q&A session where they answered questions about the show as well as some personal behind the scenes info. So what I’ll be posting here is some of the first hand information from this session. Tomorrow I’ll be uploading a new photo-album with pictures from the London Expo and some great pictures of the cast.
Question and Answer Session
The Q&A session covered various topics: BSG questions, personal politics, show politics, behind the scenes jokes, and what kissing Baltar is like.
Do you know who the fifth Cylon?
What can we expect from the season finally?
Was there a clause in Admiral Adama’s contract stating he could not be a Cylon?
Was Galen Tyrol (Chief) shocked when he found out he was a Cylon?
Asked to Tory (Roslin’s presidential aid), “is Baltar a good kisser and does he slip in the tongue?”
Galactica is a very political show, “do they believe America is behind on the death penalty?”
Who do they support for US President?
What are some of the jokes played by the cast behind the scenes?
I’m sure there was a lot more that was discussed but these were some of the main questions. Additionally I noticed from the London Expo that on day two some of the cast members were not present. I’d have to say that Linaka and I were lucky to have gone on the day that we did and met the four cast members.
