As we read these chapters we used 4 versions of the Bible to get a better understanding of the chapters. The main Bibles used were the KJV, the NKJV, the NIV and the ESV. To understand what makes these Bibles different please read our section on “The 3 Types of Bibles”.
Chapter 1
Some key details we got out of chapter 1, were a summery of creation in the first 6 days, basically God spoke and the universe leaped into existence, and the creation of man and woman in the image of God.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female he created them.–Genesis 1:27
Since chapter 1 seems to be an overall summery of creation, it does not go into the details of the creation of man and woman, which we see in chapter 2.
Chapter 2
Chapter 2 is mainly the story of how God created man and the specifics of the Garden of Eden. What is interesting about this chapter is that it talks about the creation of everything in a slightly different order, whereas in chapter 1 we find out what was created on what day. Chapter 2 doesn’t tell us what day God created what. What’s also important is that here we find out that God rested on the seventh day and sanctified it.
After we find out how God created man and woman we find one of the most important lines of the Bible. This line may be over looked but it’s a key line that helps us understand the role of marriage.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.–Genesis 2:24
Chapter 3
Chapter 3 covers the fall of man from Eden. It involves the deception of the serpent and how woman was tricked into eating the fruit of the tree and then she had her husband eat of the fruit as well. Although God punished man and woman for disobeying his rule about the tree of knowledge he did not throw they out unprepared. Another important line to remember from chapter 3 is line 21.
Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin and clothed them.–Genesis 3:21
After he clothed them, he sent them out into the world so that man would make a living for himself. The point here is that God disciplined man, but he still cared for him enough to give him cloths and not send him out into the world without nothing. When I refer to man I mean man and woman in general.
Tomorrow we will continue with the next three chapters.

This is Chapter 2 of the book of Jonah, it ties into what I was saying the other day about Jonah.
From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. He said:
“In my distress I called to the LORD,
and he answered me.
From the depths of the grave [a] I called for help,
and you listened to my cry.
You hurled me into the deep,
into the very heart of the seas,
and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers
swept over me.
I said, ‘I have been banished
from your sight;
yet I will look again
toward your holy temple.’
The engulfing waters threatened me, [b]
the deep surrounded me;
seaweed was wrapped around my head.
To the roots of the mountains I sank down;
the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you brought my life up from the pit,
O LORD my God.
“When my life was ebbing away,
I remembered you, LORD,
and my prayer rose to you,
to your holy temple.
“Those who cling to worthless idols
forfeit the grace that could be theirs.
But I, with a song of thanksgiving,
will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
Salvation comes from the LORD.”
And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Today I realized that there is no denying the Lord. No matter what you do, how far from the path you stray, the Lord remembers you and guides you back to the way, even if it hurts in the process.
Thinking back to Jonah, he was stubborn and tried to run away from the Lord and in doing so he endangered the people on the same boat as him. By telling them to throw him into the sea he was performing a sacrifice so he could save them. Think how terrifying an encounter that must have been for him? To save others whilst possibly dying in the process (after all he had to be very sure the Lord would save him).
I believe that the Lord is trying to save us all, gently nudging us as much as possible, but as soon as something life changing happens we realize what had been happening all along and how far we had come from him.
To get back to our base roots; faith, love and worship. That is what we should be doing. Not working so hard for worthless causes. Fame and fortune can’t save you, but God can. Its always been that way and never changed yet gradually our eyes have become clouded by our lifestyles.
I’m grateful to the Lord for his guidance and his constant reminders.

I saw this and remembered how important it is to share this with you all. The world is false, unruly, and ungodly. I don’t say this because I am bitter at the world, no I pity it. There are many good deeds done everyday but the only ones people remember are the bad. This is because they are given prominence in our lives through media. Media symbolises the core of what we are. All people watch it, they see the horror, the suffering and they are anguished or saddened by it and yet they continue to watch it. The corporations want us to keep watching and as long as this news holds us to their screen they continue.
Sure there are other reasons like “the people have I right to know”. Everyone should understand by know why God did not want Eve to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge for it was both good and bad. For through it there was sin. By us wanting to know many bad things are done, and even worse things are done when they are known. Gods judgement does not escape anyone, so none of us can say that we are blameless in any of the acts that have happened.
It is not all doom and gloom though, the reality of it is however. Yet our Lord God is our protector, a thousand may fall at your side, 10,000 at your right hand yet it shall not come near you. Think of God surrounding each of us like a bubble, securing us safely.
1 John Chapter 2 (NIV edition)
- 15.
- Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
- 16.
- For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world.
- 17.
- The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
God bless you all

The love of man has gone cold. They would rather be famous than help the dying and the sick. All of this is in regard to Burma. The government prefer to have election with those that can fend for themselves, and ignore the dying and sick around them. By refusing to have help given to them they are not helping them.

By lack of knowledge my people perish
They don’t know God, they don’t know our Lord Jesus because he said
the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world
John 4:4
Prayer is needed urgently for these people, prayer of intercession, not money or food. Prayer is the key to opening those closed doors of the Junta, the doors of the heart. Through prayer food will get to the people, medicine and the word of God.
Man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord
Deuteronomy 8:3
The fact that 65% of Burma’s rice growing areas was hit means that rice rose in price again because of the Cyclone. What more can be said? Its a sign of the times.

Everyday new things are going on, everyday the world seems to deteriorate. It is as if the human race is in a fast car hurtling towards a solid concrete wall. When we hit it, everything is gone. Now this wall made up of the fact that the world has got to a stage where we are overpopulating it. This overpopulation is forcing mass starvation, food prices surge as well as rioting.
The soaring price of food yesterday forced some British wholesalers to ration supplies of rice to try to prevent panic buying.
The price of a 2lb bag of supermarket basmati rice has soared by 60 per cent in a year from 90p to £1.45.
The Sunday Express
This is but one of the signs of the times. All we have to do is see them. Now we have to keep in mind that the end this age will not be the destruction of earth (though we have very well near destroyed the habitability of it). It will be the renewing of the world,
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
Revelation Chapted 21, Verse 1
The first Words of Wisdom from today: See the bigger picture, look at everything all around you and see the truth, future past and present.

Currently we are experimenting with the design theme, design is important to get the right message across. Ultimately though the word is what we seek to spread. The word of God, and what we believe.
What we believe is varied by its catholic and protestant origin ( Jose being Catholic and me being protestant) Angela (my Mum) will also be inputting at times as she is the driving leader by her devotion to God, and sets the best example of us all. She will be guiding us in how the latest news corresponds to the bible and the changing times. Jose will be guiding us in the intelligent design versus scientific big bang theory etc. I will be adding bits of wisdom here and there. Referring always to the bible and what I believe God ment for us.
May God bless you and and we will starting our posting on the 3rd of May 2008.
